Get Growing

BEFORE: Confronting the weeds & prepping the plot

Here she is in all of her glory, pre and post planting. I’m looking forward to documenting my plot’s progress throughout the summer months. I have a healthy rose bush in the corner that predates my rental of the land and has already given me several vases full of blooms, two rows of tomato plants, two rows of pepper plants, two rows of various herbs, a row of beans, broccoli, eggplant and zucchini, and a sprinkling of wildflower seeds on the side. Sadly, I can already see that dill, cilantro, beans and eggplant are favorites among the local wildlife.
AFTER: In the ground and ready to be watered
THE RESULT: Excitement on a stem...
and the beginnings of a big batch of pasta sauce....
...complete with 3 (yes, 3) types of basil...
...and a dash of spice...
...but apparently, we won't be using the sauce to make eggplant parmigiana!

  1. I feel your pain. I haven't seen a bean or cabbage plant untouched. There's alway the farmer's market. Love the effort.
